Monster Island is The Asylum's 2019 mockbuster. Strangely, it was released around the time of Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The movie is about Monster Island, an island where a monster may exist; the monster, if your will, is Monster Island.


Because it is a film about asylums, it (read...) has a budget that is comparable to a big kid's dinner. It uses this budget lightly, focusing only on the human characters and filming all the stars in one location during lunch. Let's not forget, however, that this film is about kaiju, so it's possible that The Asylum will perform well.
